A 57-year-old man died after being caught in an avalanche in Summit County, Utah, on January 30, police said. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said the avalanche, in a backcountry area known as Square Top, was triggered by two skiers on Saturday. One of the skiers was caught in the avalanche. The victim’s body was recovered on Sunday. This footage shows avalanche mitigation at Square Top on January 31. “This video was taken and shared to show the avalanches we are dealing with currently throughout northern Utah,” the Utah Avalanche Center said.
